St. James' Way in Zumaia: Deba ‹- Zumaia ‹- Getaria ‹- Zarautz

ACCOMODATION FOR PILGRIMS

Km 0 ZARAUTZ. We left the helmet historical and we cross about 100 meters back, by GI 2633, in the direction of the stop of Megas. We took to the right the hill from Aldapeta, old road that united Zarautz with Getaria. We ascend by the same one, leaving to the left the district of Glad Vista and, almost in the end, the hermitage from Santa Barbara to the right in a hill. After a brief section of cemented way, we will continue ascending by the road until descrying the villa of Getaria. We advanced by a way asphalted surrounded by vineyards until arriving at the highway GI 3391 by which we descend towards the villa. We happened next to the cemetery and in a pronounced curve we left the highway. Finally, we descend by the hill of Loramendi that the City council leads in front of.

Km 4,2 GETARIA. We left the locality ascending by the Herrerieta street, to continue by the Roman road of Askizu, until arriving at the small villages Gaintza and Agerregitxiki. To the right of this last one, we retook the road that, to about 500 meters, ends at highway GI 3392 which we will follow until arriving at the district.

Km 6,4 ASKIZU. From the hermitage of San Martín we followed the way that takes to us until the Arano small village. In the bifurcation we decided on the way of the right. The initially llanea way, to end up descending towards the villa from Zumaia that goes to appearing in front of us. We left to the left the cove of Orroaga and descend until N 634. We crossed the highway, for, by a stroll that passes before the hermitage of Santiago and the Zuloaga museum, to arrive at the peatonal bridge on the Urola river. We descend next to Itsas Kiroldegia to the stroll of Gernika which we cross until surpassing, by a peatonal bridge, Narrondo laughed and raising by the streets Sorazu and Nagusia to arrive until the Town Council.

Km 9,5 ZUMAIA. We followed by the Arritokieta street until the hermitage of the same name and the cemetery. An asphalt road allows to gain altitude descrying panoramic on Zumaia and the coast. The llanea way next to the Andika small villages. When the wagon tour to the left, we follow in rectum by an ascending way (the white marks red and of GR. 121 can help us in this section) that after llanear, it surpasses repecho and it descends until the recreational area of Galarreta. We followed the asphalt road until arriving at the hermitage of San Sebastián of the district

Km 13,1 ELORRIAGA. We descend until arriving at N 634. We crossed it and we took the asphalted way that we see opposite. When arriving at the stop, after pronounced repecho, we turned aside ourselves to the right, by a cemented way, that we will leave about 200 meters. We will take the dirt road that arises to our right. We followed this way llaneando until the proximities of the Zubeltzuzar small village, to turn aside themselves to the right and to arrive again at the N634 highway. We cross about 400 meters by the same one, happening next to the sale of Santuaran. We passed a bridge over the A-8 freeway and as opposed to the rest of a quarry (to the right of our sense of march) we took a cemented track that descends until running into with another cemented track. We will go to the left (the yellow and white marks of PR GI 45 can help us in this section) until the curve previous to the Usaberartza small village. Passing an opening we will follow a footpath that ascends until returning to leave us, in the stop of Itziar, in N 634. We crossed and we took highway GI 3210 to be ascending. We will leave it, near the Kanala Hotel, by our right to ascend to the urban nucleus.

Km 18,3 ITZIAR. Happening in front of the Church of Our Mrs. of Itziar, we left by a cemented way that happens next to the cemetery and begins to descend. In the crossing of the Antsorregi small villages we followed front until the crossing of Olloki, where we will turn aside ourselves to the left to initiate a continuous one and pronouncing reduction. After leaving to our left the hermitage of San Roke, to about 100 meters, we took to our right the old road that takes to us until the town council of DEBA Km 21,3.
